Apple’s Mac Event 2016

In just less than 4 hours time, Apple is expected to announced its refreshed computer lines, including the iMac, Macbook Pro, and Macbook Air in its Mac event.

MacBook Pros

Rumor has it, there will be a thin interactive touchscreen above the keyboard replacing the function keys. The screen will display information of the programs you have opened on your Pro laptop, controlling music and much more. Rumours says it will also feature a 2TB SSD in its lineup. We could also see the new MacBook Pros comes with fewer ports than the current, spotting USB-C and Lightning ports.

MacBook Airs

It has been 6 years since the Airs been given any updates. It is said that this year, Apple will update just the hardware on the Air and won’t be updating the screen resolution. So, if this pan out, that means there won’t be any Retina version of MacBook Air anytime soon.

iMacs

Similar to MacBook Airs, iMac only has spec update last year but hasn’t seen any change in design over the last 4 years. In this year’s event, there probably not be a design refresh too instead of Apple probably will release a a minor update with USB-C ports and potentially new AMD chips. Curious to see what Apple have in their sleeve to counter Microsoft with their unveiling Surface Studio.

Live streaming uses Apple’s HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) technology. HLS requires an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with Safari on iOS 7.0 or later, a Mac with Safari 6.0.5 or later on OS X v10.8.5 or later, or a PC with Microsoft Edge on Windows 10. Streaming via Apple TV requires an Apple TV (2nd or 3rd generation) with software 6.2 or later or an Apple TV (4th generation). – Apple

Not too sure

It is said that Apple is working on the new display and it is expected to have 5K output and new Thunderbolt 3 port. Whether or not it will be announced this weeks it another matter.

Airpods – The newest accessory for iPhone 7, which many has known comes with no headphone jack was supposed to be in the market in late October. Apple then says that it is not ready and will need “a little more time”. In this week’s Mac event, people is expecting they will go on sale.

2 other Apple products namely Mac Pro and Mac Mini are likely won’t be in the keynote at this week’s event.
