Disqus Commenting System

Such a bad luck! If you’re reading this then you’ve noticed that this blog has reverted to the old layout. Why? Simply because my new layout breaks after I installed Disqus Comments Plugin for WordPress. If you do not know what is Discus, it is a comment system and moderation tool for your site. Their service lets you add next-gen community management and social web integration to any site on any platform.

I’m not really sure why it breaks the layout but somehow right after I installed that plugin, all hell breaks lose. I’m now still figuring out on how to get the layout back and after that work on all my customization back.

So, for now, just bear with this simple theme.

Hmm..Oh, not to forget. If you think the articles on this blog helped you somehow, do drop some comments ya. It feels really good when you see someone commenting on your writing and motivates you to keep on writing stuffs.

Thanks.

[UPDATE]

I managed to get the new layout back working again by using the backup I have on my laptop. So, lesson learnt today is; always have a backup for anything you edited.

I’ve also installed another comments system which is called Livefyre. So far, I’m liking it as it has less installation steps and the most importantly us it does not break my layout. I will be writing about this plugin soon in my next post.

Good job of choosing LiveFyre. I also had it once that disqus breaks my layout so that’s why I also use LiveFyre.

The fact that people actively hunt down DoFollow blogs shows that they aren’t interested in the comment, just in the number of them they can leave.

@astronyu We reviewed your sites source code to find the free theme being used and tested that with a WordPress install using the latest version of the Disqus plugin. We didn’t find any problems after a bare bones install but if there was a plugin that was causing issues we’d like to know. Other people could be experiencing it and we’d like to fix it. If you decide to give Disqus another shot and still experience issues with your theme let me know. You can email me at [email protected]

Hi Astro,

My name is Giannii and I head up the support over at Disqus. I just did test of your theme and Disqus was running fine. Was it a plugin that caused you issues?
