Sony has launched a new gaming headset for its PlayStation console called Platinum Wireless Headset that will be available on January 12.
Some improvements over Gold headsets are the Platinum has a larger 50mm drivers specifically tunes for 3D audio, more advanced noise-cancelling microphone and has an improved battery life. With the new 3D audio technology, games with 7.1 sounds like MLB The Show 17, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, and Days Gone will sounds better and more immersive. For titles without 3D support, the Platinum has an enhanced version of 7.1 virtual surround sound.
It is also said that the new Platinum headsets has a better design for ensuring comfort in long gaming sessions and a stronger built unlike the Gold and Elite which prone to cracks.
Available for pre-order at $159.99 and delivery from January 12 onward, the noise-cancelling headset features an enhanced positional 7.1 virtual surround sound powered by Playstation 3D audio technology for more immersive gaming.
